Bridging artists and brands through sound and music with Jenn Anderson-Miller.
Meet Jenn Anderson-Miller, the CEO and Co-Founder of Audiosocket. With over 15 years dedicated to transforming how music is licensed and distributed, Jenn is a powerhouse carving out a unique space in the music industry.
Jenn’s artistic journey began at a young age, encouraged by her mother, who nurtured her talents in expressive fields including music and dance. Although she doesn’t do much of either these days, Jenn’s creative energy shifted toward innovation, motivating her to discover fresh methods to help and inspire artists.
Like many great ideas, Audiosocket’s story began over margaritas at a Mexican restaurant in Seattle. Jenn, then struggling to clear music for extreme sports brands, met with a booking agent and artist manager who shared her vision for a better solution to the cumbersome traditional music licensing process. With platforms like YouTube on the rise, they saw a growing need for accessible licensed music in the digital era. Audiosocket was born soon after, making it the first company to provide digital music licensing for influencers and small businesses.
“Our company was the first to make music licensing accessible to anyone, digitally.…our focus has always been on how we use technology to empower creators while driving revenue for our artists.”
Audiosocket simplifies music licensing by partnering directly with artists to clear all rights to their recordings globally. This enables Audiosocket’s partners to integrate music into their media and tools exactly as they want, without all of the red tape and lengthy timelines. With a roster of over 3,000 bands and artists spanning 250+ genres and sub-genres, Audiosocket delivers a diverse, world-class music catalog featured in Disney trailers, Netflix films, and commercials for top brands like Meta, the NFL, and Ray-Ban.
“We create like children. We refine like scientists. We let go like warriors. We act on our dreams. We embrace artistic vulnerability. We value the formula, and we dare to break it.”
Adaptive and diverse, Audiosocket positions itself as a family of brands that delivers the best indie music to creators wherever they’re creating. For instance, Audiosocket primarily targets the creator economy and small to medium businesses, ASX provides services for Hollywood blockbusters, and SyncHits provides a music integration solution for social platforms, creator tools, games, apps, virtual worlds, etc. This flexibility allows Audiosocket to embrace new challenges and partnerships with an open-minded, innovative spirit.
Jenn considers Audiosocket to be collaborative by nature. Representing over 3,000 artists, she finds it critical to prioritize creators. How can technology amplify their work? How can their creativity be supported? “There’s incredible artistry. The artists that we represent are truly talented and have really engaged fanbases; they build a deep human connection with their followers.” Jenn feels this is what makes Audiosocket unique — a human touch to branding through sound and music.
“How do we create an ethical ecosystem to support both music and AI?”
Jenn is cautiously optimistic about AI and the impact it could have on her industry. She believes human connectivity and personalization come first but recognizes AI is here to stay. So why not make it work for you? “Let’s move with the technology, and let’s shape it in the ways we want to see it shaped.” It’s a delicate balance between proactively seeking solutions that incorporate AI and pausing to listen to feedback from your creative community. For 2025, one of Audiosocket’s company goals is to develop a music model that approaches the digital and AI era with an ethical lens. For Jenn, this means being transparent about the process, paying artists fairly, and incorporating AI intentionally.
Jenn believes music and fonts — sometimes seen as an afterthought — will become key drivers in future creative works. The era of hyper-personalization is here, driving a demand for tools that enhance self-expression and creativity. Creative assets like quality music and typography will enable individuals and brands alike to showcase their unique identities. With the digitization of music and the influence of platforms like TikTok and Instagram, music and sound are bringing stories to the forefront and making these elements more important than ever.
Jenn and Audiosocket are behind Fonic, a music and font discovery tool for designers and brands developed in response to Sound & Vision.
